History defined me with information of events before and after my birth. Before my birth my ancestral line were called SLAVES and were not identified as human, but property. After my birth other identities defined me….you may even recall those Colored, Negro, Black, African American and many others that I want mention here. All identities that I couldn’t and wouldn’t identify with.
Now, its not my intent to reacquaint you with the history of SLAVERY for I housed no doubt that the term creates a vision and emotions within each of us.
Early in my life the thought of slavery inflamed me and the feelings of anger, bitterness, hate, guilt, self-pity, isolation, envy, jealousy, selfishness and the lack of self-control engulfed me, and I made many attempt to escape those emotions, by believing, in the terms of FREEDOM AND EQUALITY provided to me in words only .
I knew that I had to escape the illusions of the Freedom and Equality promised to each of us in the word embedded within us through repetition – The Words of the Constitution of this country. Yes! I used them, but felt that in the mind of many those word did not apply to people like me. You see… I was IMPRISONED BY A PAST REALITY a false realization that I grew with and accepted to live by.
I now refuse to live in the Illusion of the FREEDOM AND EQUALITY promised from the words of men who themselves are enslaved by the same thoughts of freedom and equality; a source that no human have the power to provide.
Allow me to share the with you the POWERS that freed me, and once you can begin to give LIFE to these, your life will change — LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GOODNESS, KINDNESS, GENTLENESS, FAITHFULNESS and SELF-CONTROL
